Kyung Lee
Kyung Lee is a filmmaker and editor based in the Bay Area, California, who hails from Yokohama, Japan. Kyung’s work focuses on human dreams and desires and explores our universality. Kyung’s directional debut, Telos: the Fantastic World of Eugene Tssui is now streaming on Vimeo and Tubi. Her social practice film, We R Here, premiered at the Odense International Film Festival in Denmark. She is co-produced and edited Wild Projects’ Kim Anno’s directional debut, ¡Quba! We R Here
We R Here is a compilation of 3 short films created in collaboration with Oakland’s unhoused. Individual community members turn the camera on themselves using their own voice as a tool for empowerment while providing a rare glimpse into life on the streets. The project was funded by East Bay Community Foundation, Robertson Family Foundation and Puffin Foundation.
