Rebel Splendor

$50.00

This monograph chronicles 25 years of Kim Anno's artist and filmmaking career, as she came of age in Los Angeles during the tumultuous 1970s which imprinted on her visually seductive painting and provocative film/video  work. In 2023-24 she received a Guggenheim award, US dept of State grant for: Water Cities: Indonesia, Asian Cultural Council grant, Henry Luce Foundation, Berkeley film foundation, Zellerbach foundation award, and reviews in multiple art journals around the world. Her work is centered in cultural adaptation, international dialogue, and revelatory imagery about the uncertain future of a planet rapidly spinning towards the chaotic in climate change. Make no mistake about it, beauty is an arbiter of justice in these saturated images.
